The final report for nursing will set out this framework alongside some appropriate resources and other areas of the curriculum where genetics/genomics could be incorporated. A similar series of reports is being prepared for midwifery.

Genes and Life, originally released in CD format, is now available as an education DVD. Produced in partnership with the University of Central lancashire, this programme helps people better understand why their genes can have an impact on their health. The programme, which is divided into several video clips, offers simple answers to various questions, including:
What are genes?
Why should we know more about our genes?
How might genes impact on my health?
What is a genetic illness?
How might genes improve the safety and effectiveness of medicines?
Genes and Life is the perfect programme for people who are seeking a basic introduction to genetics and who are curious to learn about why improving our knowledge of genetics will influence the future of our healthcare.
