The Scottish Genetics Education Network (ScotGEN) is a network for all individuals involved in teaching genetics for healthcare in Scotland. ScotGEN was established in 2005 as a collaboration of the 4 Scottish Clinical Genetics Centres with Scottish Universities. Many advances are being made in understanding how genes cause disease, leading to changes in healthcare based on genetic information. It is, therefore, important that all healthcare professionals receive appropriate education in genetics to allow them to understand its application in their everyday practice.  There are only a limited number of experienced teachers of Clinical Genetics. By providing a forum for educators and access to a range of resources, ScotGEN will expand and improve genetic education for healthcare in Scotland. Anyone with an interest in genetics education and healthcare can join ScotGEN. If you need further information, please contact: ScotGEN Administrator, Sheila Sutherland at s.sutherland@napier.ac.uk or by calling on 0131-455-5678.
