Impact of Living with a Genetic Condition

Welcome to the ScotGEN website.

The Scottish Genetics Education Network (ScotGEN) is a network for all individuals involved in teaching genetics for healthcare in Scotland. ScotGEN was established in 2005 as a collaboration of the 4 Scottish Clinical Genetics Centres with Scottish Universities.

Healthcare professionals need to understand genetics and its application to everyday practice. There are only a limited number of experienced teachers of Clinical Genetics. We hope that by providing a forum and access to a range of resources, ScotGEN will expand and improve genetic education for healthcare in Scotland.

Our new website has now been launched, giving you  access to the resources mentioned below. Anyone with an interest in genetics education and healthcare can join - just make sure you have registered with ScotGEN using the Register Now! link to make full use of the site.

We are delighted to bring you the first ScotGEN learning resources, including tools for family history taking and animations of mitosis and mieosis. These are all available to download for  teaching and study purposes.

The website is still a work in progress and it will continue to grow and improve  over the coming months. Please keep watching the site as it develops.

From time to time you will see the Coming Soon box, which  announces resources nearing completion.

All your feedback is welcome - especially at this early stage. Please send your emails to the address below - we would be glad to have any comments, on current content; items for future inclusion; technical problems. Your emails will be dealt with promptly.

If you require further information, please contact the ScotGEN Administrator: s.sutherland@napier.ac.uk 0131-455-5678.
